Virtue Foundation sponsors Lawyers Without Borders Trial Advocacy Training in Nairobi, Kenya

Lawyers Without Borders implemented its fifth annual Kenyan Trial Advocacy Program in Nairobi, Kenya. The training team, sponsored by the Virtue Foundation, trained 14 trainers and 82 participant lawyers and judges from 8 cities in Kenya on trial skills and on issues of violence against women and corruption. Specifically, the program’s objectives were to increase participants’ understanding of the Kenya 2006 Sexual Offenses Act; introduce the Kenya Anti-Corruption Act and teach skills to facilitate the Act’s implementation; promote the rule of law in general by teaching effective trial techniques; and train exceptional participants to be trainers in future programs in order to increase internal capacity for training and ensure program sustainability.
