In April of 2024, the Virtue Foundation participated in “Forging the Future of Business with AI,” a summit hosted by Forbes, Imagination in Action, and MIT. At the event, Dr. Joan LaRovere gave a presentation titled “Data for Good: AI Impact on Global Health.” Her talk highlighted the Virtue Foundation’s Actionable Data Initiative—from creating a baseline database and map of healthcare facilities and NGOs across 72 low- and low-middle-income countries to identifying the location of medical deserts where large populations lack adequate healthcare to discovering actionable insights for future medical and surgical mission work.
Following her presentation Dr. LaRovere joined a panel of key leaders in artificial intelligence and healthcare delivery, including Chandler McCann, Rob Reed, and Dr. Karim Galil; they discussed how artificial intelligence is impacting the work of global healthcare providers. The panel included a video overview of the Virtue Foundation’s Actionable Data Initiative and highlighted some of the major developments of the Actionable Data Initiative and Virtue Foundation’s partnerships with DataRobot and Databricks.
