In September, the Virtue Foundation shared its work at the 2025 United Nations General Assembly and on Bloomberg Businessweek, highlighting how AI, geospatial analytics, and advanced data pipelines are helping identify healthcare deserts and connect medical teams with communities in need.
Dr. Joan LaRovere, cofounder and president of Virtue Foundation, discussed how the Foundation is using AI, geospatial analytics, and advanced data infrastructure to make healthcare needs more visible. Through VFMatch and the Actionable Data Initiative, Virtue Foundation is mapping healthcare deserts worldwide and helping direct volunteer medical and surgical teams to the places where their skills can have the greatest impact.
The Foundation also announced the completion of enterprise-grade Databricks data pipelines that now power the VFMatch platform. These pipelines help integrate fragmented healthcare datasets at scale and transform them into actionable insights, supporting more efficient planning, coordination, and resource allocation.
The Foundation’s participation in UNGA conversations, roundtables, and media discussions reaffirmed the promise of applying innovation with purpose to improve access to care and support sustainable global health.
