Virtue Foundation Presents at the 2025 CARTO Spatial Data Science Conference

At the 2025 CARTO Spatial Data Science Conference, Virtue Foundation shared how geospatial analytics, AI, and real-time data are being used to identify medical deserts and improve healthcare planning and delivery worldwide.

In October, the Virtue Foundation presented at the 2025 CARTO Spatial Data Science Conference at Columbia University, highlighting how geospatial analytics, AI, and real-time data can help identify medical deserts and guide global healthcare delivery. Virtue Foundation was featured at the 2025 CARTO Spatial Data Science Conference in New York, where Dr. Joan LaRovere presented a talk entitled, “Using Spatial Analytics to Transform Global Health Delivery.”

The presentation highlighted how Virtue Foundation is using spatial analytics, artificial intelligence, and real-time data through VFMatch and the Actionable Data Initiative to better understand where healthcare needs are greatest. By mapping medical deserts and applying a scalable framework for health center site selection and service delivery, the Foundation is helping transform complex data into actionable insight.

The session also emphasized the importance of collaboration across technology and global health. With tools and partnerships including CARTO, Databricks, and DataRobot, Virtue Foundation is working to identify where resources are needed most and how medical teams can be deployed more effectively.
