In 2005, Virtue Foundation provided children living in post-Katrina trailer parks with a 21st Century technology-based education. Based on pilot successes, the Louisiana Governor scaled this program to all 6th graders across the State. We also led professional training workshops for teachers. In the coming years, Virtue Foundation deployed a digital storytelling curriculum focused on philanthropy, community service and civic responsibility. Through this initiative, students in underserved neighborhoods learn to use technology to create videos that tell their own stories of community service. Virtue Foundation provided participating schools with the hardware, technology, as well as digital storytelling workshops and professional trainings.
