During an initial needs assessment in Ghana, Virtue Foundation volunteers identified that some of the main reasons for this discrepancy was an unmet need for women’s health doctors and specialized equipment.

The Virtue Foundation and its volunteers are planning a return to Tumu, Ghana to continue supporting local staff and patients at Tumu District Hospital. This year’s Ghana Surgical and Medical mission is slated to take place in late November 2015, and will include volunteers from a variety of medical specialties.

In May of 2015, the Virtue Foundation and a team of 31 surgeons, nurses, and medical volunteers traveled to Mongolia for the annual Surgical and Teaching Mission to Mongolia.

In late March of 2015, Virtue Foundation again supported Medical Students Making Impacts. Coming from the Global Health Student Organization of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai, MSMI mobilizes medical students to provide healthcare in underserved areas.
