Virtue Foundation closed 2023 with our annual Surgical and Teaching Mission to Ghana with a multidisciplinary team of 14 volunteer doctors, surgeons, and nurses, from the U.S., Austria, and Ghana.
During this year’s trip to Ghana, the Virtue Foundation team was excited to contribute to an educational initiative to support and sponsor schools in Northwest Ghana.
Dr. Joan LaRovere presented Virtue Foundation’s health data insights at the 2023 Spatial Data Science Conference, discussing big data’s transformative role in healthcare.
In July 2023, Dr. Parag Gandhi led a team to Ecuador, performing about 20 surgeries in Chimborazo with Virtue Foundation’s support, in collaboration with Partners for Andean Community Health (PACH).
In May 2023, the Virtue Foundation sent 32 volunteers on their 12th annual mission to Mongolia, providing advanced medical and surgical care, training local doctors, and performing nearly 300 surgeries over three weeks. They also donated medical supplies worth $500,000 and shared valuable data analytics with Mongolian healthcare officials for future impact.
In partnership with Osteuropahilfe, Virtue Foundation Austria was able to donate medical equipment valued at 300,000 Euros to the Zhytomir Regional Hospital in Ukraine.
In April 2023, Virtue Foundation Austria hosted a congress in the Austrian Chamber of Medicine in Klagenfurt.
In March 2023, Virtue Foundation Austria organized an annual event in partnership with the Austrian Society of Sterility, Fertility, and Endocrinology and the Medical University of Vienna to raise more awareness for women suffering from endometriosis.
