A multidisciplinary team returned to Mongolia for 2 weeks of advanced care and clinical training across Ulaanbaatar and Khuvsgul. Volunteers treated patients, performed specialized procedures, mentored local clinicians, and broadened access through continued collaboration with hospitals and regional partners.
In May and June 2024, a 46 member volunteer team completed its 14th mission in Mongolia, offering advanced subspecialty care, training, and data driven support across multiple provinces. The effort marked major clinical milestones and strengthened long term healthcare planning with local partners.
In May 2023, the Virtue Foundation sent 32 volunteers on their 12th annual mission to Mongolia, providing advanced medical and surgical care, training local doctors, and performing nearly 300 surgeries over three weeks. They also donated medical supplies worth $500,000 and shared valuable data analytics with Mongolian healthcare officials for future impact.
After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual Virtue Foundation Surgical and Teaching Mission to Mongolia resumed in May of 2022.
For nearly three weeks this past May, a team of volunteer surgeons, medical doctors, fellows, residents, medical students, nurses, and administrators traveled to Mongolia for the annual Virtue Foundation Surgical and Teaching Mission.
From October 4th to October 6th, 2018, the First Central Hospital of Mongolia hosted a celebration of an important milestone: 90 Years of Ophthalmology Service in Mongolia.
Several volunteer surgeons and medical professionals traveled to Mongolia on behalf of Virtue Foundation to carry out work in the area of cornea transplant surgery.

For nearly a decade, this trip has grown to be one of the Foundation’s longest standing and most impactful programs, helping to reach and provide healthcare to hundreds of underserved Mongolians.
