Virtue Foundation Expands Educational Outreach in Ghana

Dr. Joan LaRovere presented Virtue Foundation’s health data insights at the 2023 Spatial Data Science Conference, discussing big data’s transformative role in healthcare.


In July 2023, Dr. Parag Gandhi led a team to Ecuador, performing about 20 surgeries in Chimborazo with Virtue Foundation’s support, in collaboration with Partners for Andean Community Health (PACH).


In May 2023, the Virtue Foundation sent 32 volunteers on their 12th annual mission to Mongolia, providing advanced medical and surgical care, training local doctors, and performing nearly 300 surgeries over three weeks. They also donated medical supplies worth $500,000 and shared valuable data analytics with Mongolian healthcare officials for future impact.


In partnership with Osteuropahilfe, Virtue Foundation Austria was able to donate medical equipment valued at 300,000 Euros to the Zhytomir Regional Hospital in Ukraine.


In April 2023, Virtue Foundation Austria hosted a congress in the Austrian Chamber of Medicine in Klagenfurt.


The Virtue Foundation concluded its 2022 healthcare initiatives with a mission to Ghana. In November, with the largest team to date – 15 doctors, surgeons, nurses, and volunteers – from the United States and Austria began the holiday season to serve communities in the underserved northwest region, including Tumu and Wa, with healthcare and educational initiatives.


Virtue Foundation has always been dedicated to three core areas: healthcare, education, and women’s empowerment. During this year’s trip to Ghana, the Virtue Foundation team was very excited about the opportunity to also work towards an educational initiative, supporting the renovation of the Tutco Demonstration Basic School.


The Virtue Foundation’s Actionable Data Initiative continues to grow and expand, drawing more interest from the global health community.


In November 2022, Drs. Adam Jacobson and Theresa Tran led a surgical mission to the K National Cancer Hospital in Hanoi, Vietnam.
